Architectural asphalt shingle is the most common residential roofing system in the South Bay — and with good reason. It's cost-effective, widely available in colors and styles to match any home, durable against Bay Area weather, and backed by strong manufacturer warranties. Keith Roofing has been installing asphalt shingle since the 1950s, and we're certified installers for all three major manufacturers: CertainTeed SureStart PLUS, GAF System Plus, and Owens Corning Preferred Contractor.
What distinguishes quality shingle work from shortcut installation is attention to every layer of the system: proper synthetic underlayment with adequate laps, ice-and-water shield at valleys and penetrations, flashing renewal at chimneys and skylights, correct starter course at eaves and rakes, manufacturer-specified nailing patterns, proper hip-and-ridge detailing, and adequate attic ventilation to meet warranty requirements. Skipping any of these steps reduces roof life and can void warranty coverage.
